Brewsters Craft (t/a Brewsters Brewery) is a brewer of beer and cider possessing the licenses, qualifications and compliances essential to operate a brewery and produce quality products within the Republic of South Africa.
What range of products are you able to contract manufacture?
We contract manufacture a range of beer styles and cider
We can mix non-alcoholic products, provided the mixing can be achieved within the current plant machinery settings.
Currently we don’t distil any spirits or make wines.
We also offer a range of house brand under white label contractual agreements
What is your minimum batch size?
Our minimum batch size is
1 000L.
We can brew double
batches – 2 000L
How long does a batch take to make?
Brewing is beer style depended
– a lager would take 18
days whereas an ale would
take 12 days and cider 10
days.
You can also specify how
long you require your
product to ferment and
mature for, bear in mind we
would cost per day
What is the product’s shelf life?
We give our products 3
months shelf life (max 4
months) provided the beer is
stored cold (below 5°C) the
entire time.
We keep retainer samples of
each batch in our lab
Do you package the products inhouse?
Yes, we can package into
G-type coupler stainless steel
kegs of any size.
Our bottling plant can
package into 330ml, 340ml
or 440ml bottles; whether
brown, green or flint.
Our machine is specified for
500bph maximum capacity
Do you label inhouse?
Yes, our labelling machine
can apply labels as supplied
plus apply “best before” date
stamping (on the label and
not on the bottle).
As Brand owner, you will
need to design the labels to
adhere to the R146
Do you supply boxes/crates?
No, you will have to supply
your own secondary
packaging (boxes or crates).
Do you offer cold storage?
No, we don’t offer cold
storage.
Product should be collected
immediately after packaging
How much would a batch cost me?
Costing is worked out per
recipe and will vary based on
% Alc, raw materials used,
and processing methodologies
applied.

Per L price is for beer in kegs
– as Brand owner you supply
your own kegs
Per bottle price include the
beer + bottle + cap – as brand
owner you supply your labels
(printed to our machine
specification) and any
secondary packaging.
What are your payment terms?
50% deposit is due 7 days
before planned brew day,
with balance payable within
7 days of collection.
How much money do I need to have to start contract manufacturing?
We advise our clients to have
enough funds for two (2)
batches, as 1st batch will be
used mainly for marketing.
You will also need money for
logo and label design costs,
printing costs, transport
costs plus purchasing of
marketing material.
At minimum, you will need
to have R100 000.00.
As Brand owner, what licensing would I require?
You will brew your beer
under our licenses.
You will require a distribution
license but there is an option
to you can use our national
distribution
Do you assist with sales?
As Brand owner you are
responsible for the marketing,
distribution and sale of
your brand.
